This plant supports the Semiconductor industry, producing Pad Conditioners for chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) for CMP tools. These highly engineered pad conditioners are expected to deliver the performance that businesses seek for critical semiconductor CMP applications. Pad conditioners are available in multiple sizes and configurations and are produced through a sintering process that requires cleaning of the finished components.

The machine specifications included:

  • An intensifier pump rated at 60,000 PSI and 100HP, with Dual Intensifiers and custom controls wired for Taiwan’s electrical grid.
  • A 4’ x 4’ High Rail Cutting Envelope.
  • A motorized Z package with two Robotic Swivels mounted to a 4’ Spreader bar.
  • Full safety shielding with a light curtain.
  • A stainless steel tank, cross supports, and slats.
  • Factory installation in Taiwan.

The high rail motion system included two robotic swivels mounted to a 4′ spreader bar. A stainless steel tank, cross supports and slats were specified to avoid any rust entering the water system.

Jet Edge Solution: This customer was adding a second cleaning system that incorporated waterjets to compliment the one they had been using for over 10 years. Since Jet Edge had been providing service support for them during that time, they came to us to discuss their needs. The cleaning system they had been relying on had been working well, however, volumes had increased and they need additional capacity. The Custom Configured Jet Edge X-HR 4’ x 4’ High Rail Motion System included dual robotic swivels on a motorized Z Axis with a 12” Z travel. Light curtains were incorporated so the machine shuts down if an operator breaches the cutting envelope. A stainless steel tank was specified for strength and durability.
