Aquavision DI Control Console – The operator interface (also called the Human-Machine-Interface or HMI) occurs at the control console of your waterjet motion system. Jet Edge utilizes its proprietary Aquavision Di motion control system (add link to Aquavision Di features page) to manage the movement of your waterjet, the cutting process and the interface with the other components that make up your complete waterjet system.
It utilizes an industrial computer with machine control electronics, a control console that contains a display module, keyboard, mouse, and several dedicated switches for machine control. The Aquavision DI software provides a visual interface that displays the controls to operate the motion control system. An integrated CNC interpreter is used to process part program codes while the Aquavision Di software issues the required commands to control the servo drives, activates the cutting tools per the CNC program and monitors system sensors. Each cutting tool can be configured as a waterjet (water only cutting) or an abrasivejet (water with abrasive cutting).
The Control Console display can show a graphic representation of the part being cut and the part execution can be shown as it is being run. It can be scaled to zoom in to view small and precise cutting movements. The display uses several colors to identify different information.
Remote Pendant Control
A handheld pendant offers a tethered mobile extension of many of the Aquavision Di control functions. This allows an operator to move close to the workpiece being cut for a better view of the cutting head position and operate the system without having to return to the control panel. The pendant is enabled and disabled from the main screen of the Aquavision Di controller.
The Pendant and its cable are water-resistant but not waterproof. Prolonged exposure to water will damage the Pendant and its cable so keep them dry and away from water.
SAMPLE REMOTE PENDANT CONTROLS
A handheld pendant is factory configured based on the type of motion system you are operating and the options selected. Below are just a few of the control function that can be executed from the remote control pendant.
- Emergency Stop – The emergency stop is a physical button that shuts down the motion control system and remote pump for safety.
- Machine Status – The pendant displays the motion systems machine status.
- Remote Pump Control – The pump can be turned on and off from the pendant and high/low pressures settings can be changed.
- X-axis, Y-axis and Z-Axis movement – The cutting head position can be “jogged” to desired positions in continuous mode or by your desired incremental distance.
- Test Jets – Turns the cutting heads on while the key is pressed to confirm pressures, observe the water stream, abrasive flow, etc. required for the cut.
- Establish/Go To Cutting Start Position – Allow the setting of the program zero location prior to running part with the ability to return to start positions from any location.
- Cycle Start/Cycle Stop/Single Step – A preloaded program can be started, stopped, resumed, or executed line by line.
- Return to Path – Returns the cutting head to the position where the program was suspended.
- Block Retrace – Allows the operator to rewind the program and restart prior to where the program was suspended.
- Feed rate Adjustment – Override the feed rate values used in the program to increase or decrease speed of cut.
- Home Axes – The Home option returns all selected axis to their home positions.
- Dual Carriage Operations – Links the movement of the right carriage to the movement of the left carriage. Unlinks the movement of the right carriage to the movement of the left carriage allowing the second carriage to be disabled and moved out of the way (parked) for single carriage operation.
- Multi Head High Rail Control – Allows independent operation of main Z carriage and any sub Z carriages used.
