The Edge X-3, 3-axis, single carriage waterjet cutting machine excels at high-speed waterjet cutting and abrasivejet cutting. Boasting ±0.001″ linear positional accuracy over 12″ (304 mm) per axis, ±0.001″ repeatability (bidirectional) and ±0.003″ renishaw ballbar tests of squareness and straightness over 24″ (608 mm), you never have to worry about precision again.
The Edge X-5, 5-axis, single carriage waterjet cutting machine gets the call when complex contoured cutting is required. Featuring the new Permalign Arrow SL cutting technology, the Edge X-5 opens the door to cutting a host of specialty alloys to near-net shapes with taper free, beveled edges up to 60°.
The Edge Dual Carriage, allows you to deploy two 3-axis cutting heads, two 5-axis cutting heads or even one of each, doubling your throughput. Each carriage operates independently, double teaming a single part or cutting two like parts simultaneously. Additional features like lights out cutting and IGEMS nesting software pile on the productivity.

EDGE DUAL CARRIAGE – MID RAIL WATERJET
with Dual Independently Operated Z Carriages
Double your productivity with minimal investment. The dual Z carriages operate independently, double teaming a single part or cutting two like parts simultaneously. Specify two 3-axis carriages, two 5-axis carriages or one of each across a table size that works for you.
CNC Waterjet Cutting Machines utilize a Cross Beam Gantry with a Z Carriage mounted to it. The Z Carriage travel height establishes the Z plane of the cutting envelope and has a water only or abrasive cutting head mounted to it. The cross beam travels along two side rails to define the X and Y planes of the cutting envelope. The height of the cross beam the cutting head is mounted to classifies them as Mid Rail or High Rail Motions Systems. Mid rail motion systems have evolved into the industry standard and are most common in facilities where water jet cutting is done.
Jet Edge starts with a heavy-duty Cross Beam Gantry and rigid side rails to eliminate any flexing in the system. Precision anti-backlash recirculating ball screws, linear bearings, hardened precision ground ways coupled directly to AC brushless servo motors with absolute encoders drive the cutting accuracy. Critical bearing components are protected by labyrinth seals and positive air pressure (not flimsy bellows that wear and tear) to keep the drives free of debris that might compromise accuracy. The catcher tank is isolated from the motion system so no vibration from the cutting surface is transferred to the cutting head which would cause striations on the part edge.

Additional fine tuning may include fixturing, material handling systems, garnet removal, or closed loop water filtration systems.
